SMV CALCULATION FORMULA FOR A GARMENT

SMV (Standard Minute Value) calculation is a widely used method in the apparel industry to determine the time required to complete a specific task or operation in a production line. SMV is an important factor in garment manufacturing, as it helps to estimate the total production time and cost of a garment. The SMV value represents the number of minutes required to complete a specific operation in a standard or ideal condition. It takes into account the standard time required to complete the operation and the efficiency of the workers performing the task. The formula for calculating SMV for a garment is relatively simple and can be easily applied to any garment manufacturing process. Understanding SMV calculation is crucial for garment manufacturers to ensure efficient production and to meet the demands of their customers. By calculating SMV accurately, manufacturers can estimate production time, set targets for workers, and ensure that production is efficient and cost-effective.

SMV (Standard Minute Value) calculation formula for a garment is a widely used method in the apparel industry to determine the time required to complete a specific task or operation in a production line. The SMV value represents the number of minutes required to complete a specific operation in a standard or ideal condition.

The formula for calculating SMV for a garment is:

SMV = (SAM * 60) / (Efficiency%)

Where:

SAM (Standard Allowed Minutes) is the time required to complete a specific operation under normal or standard conditions.

Efficiency% is the efficiency level of the workers performing the task. It represents the percentage of the standard time that workers can work effectively.

For example, let's say the SAM for a specific operation is 2.5 minutes, and the efficiency level is 80%. The SMV value for this operation would be:

SMV = (2.5 * 60) / 80

SMV = 1.875 minutes

Therefore, to complete this operation, it would take approximately 1.875 minutes in standard or ideal conditions, assuming an 80% efficiency level.

In conclusion, SMV calculation is a crucial aspect of garment manufacturing that helps to determine the time required to complete specific tasks or operations in a production line. By understanding and applying the SMV formula, manufacturers can estimate production time, set targets for workers, and ensure that production is efficient and cost-effective. Accurate SMV calculation is essential for garment manufacturers to meet the demands of their customers and stay competitive in the industry. By utilizing SMV calculation in their production processes, manufacturers can increase productivity, reduce costs, and deliver high-quality garments to their customers. Overall, SMV calculation is a valuable tool that is widely used in the apparel industry to optimize garment production and improve manufacturing efficiency.

Study on Hydro-extractor and it's functions

Theory: Hydro-extractor plays a crucial role within the textile processing industry with its working rule. Basically, it's popular for its extra water removal from wet garments, and this water removing process is completed by gravity, and this through with the centrifugal shaft. Almost 65% of the water from garments is removed by this hydro-extractor machine. Objectives: 1) to understand a few hydro-extractor machines. 2) to understand different parts of the hydro-extractor machine and their function. 3) to understand the working rule of the hydro-extractor machine. Equipment: A hydro-extractor machine. Machine Specification: Length: 46" Width: 46" Height: 26" Working Procedure: 1) initially, we take the wet garments from the washer after washing. 2) Then we load the clothes into the hydro-extractor machine consistent with its capacity. 3) After loading the turn on the machine by press the beginning button and waiting 5-6 minutes. 4) then stop the machine and unload

Verification of KCL & Current Divider Rule.

To verify divider rule with the help of parallel circuits. To verify Kirchhoff’s current law(KCL)  To derive a Parallel circuit and derive equivalent resistance of the circuit both experimentally and analytically In electronics, a voltage divider also known as the potential divider is a passive linear circuit that provides an output voltage that is a fraction of its input voltage.
